RESEARCH FIELD DAY—Area farmers are invited to the annual field day at the Virginia Tech Piedmont Experimental Station in Orange, Thursday, September 18, 1:30 to 4 p.m. The station is located about two miles south of the town of Orange on the east side of Route 15.
Virginia Tech specialist will conduct the program and explain the experimental projects being conducted in the field. Corn and soybean variety test plots can be observed and compared. Other projects that will be toured are the results of fertilization experiments and lime substitutes. Refreshments will be served following the tour of the plots.
BEEF MARKETING SITUATION: Each Monday during the peak feeder cattle marketing season I receive a concise two page marketing situation report. Briefly it gives the results of the national fed cattle market. Number of cattle federally inspected for slaughter. Omaha Fed Cattle Prices, Wholesale Beef Trade. Feeder Cattle, National Markets, Oklahoma City Markets and results of Virginia Feeder Cattle Sales.
