Much to the delight of the students at R. C. H. S. they received their Rappsody 77 yearbooks, and yearbooks are being poked at fellow classmates left and right for their autographs. Along with this happy go lucky group there exists a battle for rights to the flagpole between the class of ’77 and the class of *78. It seems that they both want their classes on top of the flagpole.
In sports, baseball season is over, but the Panthers gave us what we wanted in the way of action and an exciting season. In Friday’s Regional Track meet 3 Rappahannock girls placed and will travel to the University of Virginia Friday for the state meet. Lynnell Purdhum broke the school record in the hurdles and placed 4th in the finals. Eleanor Phillips placed 4th in the Discus and 6th in the shot. Jamelle Prudhum won the 100 yd. dash and 440 yd. dash. She set a new regional record in the 440 running in 58.7 seconds.
