Jimmy Swindler of Sperryville demonstrated outstanding academic potential by placing in the top five percent of over a million students tested during 1976 in scholastic aptitude tests. He was one of 49,000 students considered for recognition in the 1978 Merit Program and he will be notified in the fall if he qualifies as a semi-finalist or a commended student.
