Supervisor Chairman Pete Luke described the process of transferring Mrs. Buntin’s figures to the form used for the county budget as “finding the best possible fit.”
Mrs. Buntin maintained that the Supervisors couldn’t possibly understand the total public assistance budget without going into each program separately.
“That would take too much time,” countered Luke.
“Then I don’t see how you can decide on funding,” replied Mrs. Buntin.
Luke asked if the Supervisors had any control over the salary increases listed in the budget.
