Kvarnes was temporarily employed in the reception office at the Washington School of Psychiatry of which his father is a director. Mrs. Kvarnes was previously a ski instructor at the Rappahannock Ski Area.
Funeral services were hejd May 7 at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Chevy Chase.
He is survived by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Robert G. Kvarnes and two older brothers, Eric and Jenson, all of Chevy Chase; grandparents Mrs. E. Russel Harrall of Baltimore, Maryland and E. H. Young of Greensboro, North Carolina.
A memorial fund in his name is being established at Norwood School in Bethesda where the faculty voted Kvarnes best citizen at the time of his graduation.
