The Rappahannock Extension Homemakers are sponsoring a food preservation workshop Wednesday, June 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock Elementary School Cafeteria. Jo Anne Barton, V.P.I. Nutrition Specialist, will talk on the principles of food preservation, then demonstrate canning, both boiling water bath and pressure canner methods, and freezing.
A gauge tester for dial gauge pressure canners will be available that evening and from the V.P.I. Extension Office the week of May 30th. If you cannot attend but have questions for the specialist, call the Extension Office *675-3619.
