meet the increasing level of demands that we citizens place upon them? As individual citizens we do make heavy demands on our Sheriffs Department, and are quite impatient when those demands are not met immediately. Therefore, it is most necessary that collectively as citizens, through our supervisors, we must supply them with the staff and resources to meet those demands adequately. We must remember that the supervisors did the same thing to the Sheriff last year, denying his requests for the same financial reasons. If the job of the Sheriffs Department is to continue to be done properly, the needs of the Sheriffs Department cannot continue to be put off. ■ How long will we allow this incredible situation to go on? What will happen when we need help but can get no response because those on duty or available are already busy beyond all ability to respond? There is only one way for these questions to be answered satisfactorily, and that is for citizens to call upon their supervisors to right that incredible situation immediately! The Sheriffs requests ate reasonable and affordable, and we have already spoken our piece on it once, at the ballot box. But we must all make our voices heard again, and hope that the supervisors are listening.
