More Local Funds
Mrs. Buntin noted that there were less state funds in the proposed assistance budget but more local funds. She attributed the $77,059 decrease in the total welfare budget to a change in funding procedure. Money for aid to dependent children no longer appears in the county budget because checks are written directly from the state offices in Richmond as part of a new computerized system, she said.
