number one killer. During the past fiscal year over $181,000 was contributed in Virginia to these life saving programs through memorial giving. As a result of the continued programs of cardiovascular research and public education, Mrs. Miller indicated that U. S. mortality figures showed the lowest overall' death rate ever recorded for the country, with much if the decline attributed to reductions in deaths from heart attack and stroke. She thanked the citizens of Rappahannock County for their past support and reminded them of the importance of making a contribution.

To make a memorial gift, send the name of the person to be honored, your own name and address, and that of the person to be notified, along with your contribution. Checks or money orders should be made out to American Heart Association and addressed to Mrs. Paul L Miller, Box 188, Flint Hill, Va. 22627.

When a memorial gift is received, Mrs. Miller will send an acknowledgement card to the family of the person in whose memory the donation is made. The amount will be held confidential, and a receipt for the contribution (which is fully tax deductible) will be sent to the donor. For more details, contact Mrs. Miller at 67S-337e^n
