Pickups Collide
A two-vehicle collision occured August 17 on Route 211, three miles east of Washington. According to Trooper R. A. Baines those involved were Gary Franklin Knott of Rileyville driving a 76 Chevrolet pickup and John Franklin Crawford of Shenandoah operating a 76 Ford pickup.
The Knott vehicle pulled into the path of the Crawford vehicle as Crawford attempted to pass. Crawford went into the median and overturned. Charges are pending, said the officer.
School Dedication
A dedication ceremony for the new Leslie Fox Keyser Primary School in Front Royal is set for August 28 at 1:00 p.m. “Miss Leslie” was elementary school supervisor in the Rappahannock County school system for many years and has extensive family connections here also.
Reunion Set
Descendants of the Lewis family, the Holmes family and the Aylor family will hold a reunion on Saturday, August 27 beginning at noon at the home of Charles C. Lewis in Sperryville. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a picnic lunch. Friends are welcome.
