Forum on Waste
To the editor:
Persons attending the Candidates’ Meeting last May indicated strongly that a public information forum regarding the disposition of wastes would be valuable to those who have to struggle with this problem on a local level. In view of the lagoon problem at the elementary school as well as the problems around the cost of the dumpsters and the ultimate disposition of their contents, the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection has developed a program which will address both topics.
In the past, the Annual Meeting has been held on the first Friday of September and has often conflicted with Labor Day weekend plans. We have rescheduled this meeting so that it will fall on the Friday following the holiday, September 9th. In a further effort to accommodate those who feel that the meetings do not end early enough, we will convene the meeting at 7:30 p.m. and will try on this occasion to start on time. All of the above is designed to attract the largest number of persons possible in order that these issues which are already before the public and which will ultimate effect each of us since tax dollars must be expended for such services, may be clarified.
