To the editor:
In reference to Mr. Konick’s letter regarding letters to the editor using pseudonyms, I would like to point out that Alexander Hamilton, John Jay and James Madison all wrote under the pseudonym of Publius in 1787. The Federalist papers were the result of these “Anonymous” letters and they facilitated in the adoption of the United States Constitution. Discretion is not cowardice, nor should it prevent one’s opinions from being presented to the public.
To digress a moment, may I publicly ask the Board of Supervisors why they feel it proper to systematically exclude all those who must work for a living from their meetings? Were I to attend all the supervisors’ meetings, I would be without a job. Do 1 ask too much?
