Board member Alan Stokes said he didn’t think the Board should commit itself to a decision that soon and Mrs. Massie substituted “react” for "act” in her suggestion.
Stokes added that the Board should obtain opinions and alternatives from a second engineering firm before proceeding.
Board member Walter Masterson suggested that County Engineer Fanning Baumgardner also be informed.
The Board voted unanimously to contact additional firms for alternative proposals on upgrading the lagoon.
“We’d like to be kept current with everything that transpires,” said Mrs. Summers. “It looks like it will be some time before you people know what you want.”
