camping equipment was taken from a home in the Washington area. The goods belonging to Joan Harlin of Brentwood, Md. was valued at $50. "We do have some evidence and it is being followed up,” said Deputy Hawkins.
Auto tires and rims were reported taken from a pickup at the James Floyd Lilly property in Chester Gap and value was set at about $50. A rifle and chain saw were taken from the property of William Petty in Amissville about September 9. The Pettys reside in Annandale and Amissville.
A ten-speed bike belonging to a member of the Roy Lee Knighting family at Castleton was reported missing September 9 also and is being investigated. Tapes and records were taken from the home of Verginius Weaver at Slate Mills and a reported breaking and entering at the Williams residence near Boston turned out to be a false alarm.
