Likewise, don’t overlook those openings between your central living area and the unheated areas such as an attic, garage, basement or crawl space.
If you have a window air conditioner, it is best to remove it during the winter. If you can’t, caulk around it and stuff plastic foam or a strip of figerglass in the crack between the two window panels.
Stopping cold air infiltration is the most important place to start weatherizing our homes. Although it is normally the least expensive and simplest of tasks, it has major importance in determing the size of our heating bills.
