I he Department ot Conservation and Economic Development, Division of Parks, announced the opening of Virginia State Park Campgrounds for the summer season on Monday, April 2, at 10:00 a.m.

Parks Commissioner, Ben H. Bolen, noted that also beginning April 2 at 10:00 a.m., reservations for renting campsites and State Park cabins can be made at any State Park with cabins andor campgrounds or at any commercial Ticketron terminal, or reservations may be mailed with appropriate fees to the Ticketron Reservation Center, Box 62284, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.

Telephone or mail reservation requests to the Division of State Parks Central Office or to individual State Parks will not be accepted.

A mail request to the Ticketron Reservation Center in Virginia Beach must be accompanied by the reservation form and a check, draft, or money order for the appropriate fees, plus the reservation fee, payable (for mail requests only) to Ticketron.

Cabins may be rented from April 30 to October 1 for a minimum of one week, and, if available, for a maximum period of two weeks, and with only one cabin reservation permitted by each person or family per request. “We recommend that reservations for State Park cabins be made as soon as possible, since they are one of our most popular features”, said Bolen.
