The Rappahannock Lions Club won three award categories at the District Fall Conference in Fredericksburg on October 27. The county club received two recognition badges for its banner, indicating support for the Lions of Virginia Foundation and the Old Dominion Eye Bank.
The Rappahannock Lions also won the State Achievement Award for overall excellence in a long list of judging criteria.
County Lions raised a record amount in this year’s annual apple sales, the major source of revenue for community projects.
The club’s roadside stand grossed $2,855 from the sale of 224 gallons of cider, 110 pints of honey, 87 bushels of apples and 548 quarts of homemade apple butter for a net profit close to $1,500.

The Washington Ladies Auxiliary will sell lunch Saturday, November 10 at the Merrill auction.
