Holiday Recipes
Serving your friends good food is one of the nicest ways to entertain during the holidays. Two favorites for buffets are ham biscuits and smoked turkey. I am certain Mrs. Pauline Bruce’s ham biscuit recipe will be one you will cherish and use often.
Party Ham Biscuits
Mrs. Pauline Bruce
Washington
2 cups flour
Vi teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons baking powder
6 tablespoons corn oil margarine
1 cup sweet milk—maybe a bit less S
Sift together the dry ingredients. Cut in the margarine until there is a crumb like mixture. Add milk gradually, stirring with a fork until it forms into a soft dough. Divide into 2 parts and lightly roll each part (dusting with flour when needed) to Vi inch thickness. Shape into biscuits. Bake in a hot oven (450 degrees) perhaps 10 to 12 minutes. Pull apart while hot and dab in a speck of butter. Stuff biscuits generously with thinly slice Virginia ham from which the fat has been removed.
