The supervisor chairman also agreed to check another potential dumpster location about a mile further from Amissville on highway rightof-way near Manuel Pullen’s property.
‘‘That’s really in the middle of nowhere,” remarked Don Askew, highway department resident engineer for Rappahannock.
“If you don’t want to look at it, it’s got to be in the middle of nowhere...We can’t have the best of everything (with dumpsters) within easy range of our houses,” Luke responded.
He agreed that moving the green boxes out of Amissville and further away from Culpeper would decrease the use of the dumpsters by residents of the neighboring county.
Luke also noted that a dumpster site has been located in Rediviva on highway right-of-way. Luke indicated he would authorize minor grading improvements at the property in the immediate future.
