Accused
To the editor: Accused and convicted without a trial, it seems, is what has happened to the cafeteria employees of the two schools since Mr. Lane and Mr. Eastham neglected to mention (Nov. 27 issue Rappahannock News) which cafeteria the alleged thefts were occurring in. I suppose it would have been too much trouble to investigate the accusations made by the mysterious informers before these people were publicly accused of being thieves, but. what the heck! Who has time to worry about a person’s reputation or respect.
Perhaps Mr. Lane and Mr. Eastham wouldn’t mind revealing the names of their informers or maybe they would just come forward and be given the chance to prove their accusations. At least, 1 (hat’s more than was done for the cafeteria employees.
Perhaps this is all a plot to get the jobs of some of these overpaid and underworked ladies who earn a whopping salary of about $3600 a year. Maybe some of these jobs will be available soon.
So Mr. Lane and Mr. Eastham, bring your aprons and your friends, get in the kitchen and rattle those pots and pans.
