(Continued from Page 1) the representative from Stonewall-Hawthorne District was reappointed. For the two remaining BZA members, chairman Josef Gardiner’s term expires in October, 1982, and James F. Massie’s in October, 1981.
Planning Vacancy Supervisor vice-chairman J. R. Latham also noted that planning commissioner Newbill Miller’s term runs out on January 6, 1981. Miller, the commission’s representative from Hampton District, also serves on the county school board and holds office as mayor of Washinton. Members of the planning commission are named by the board of supervisors.
Dates of expiration for other planning commission members are May, 1981, for chairman Herbert Barksdale of Wakefield District; April, 1981, for Charles Estes, representative from the BZA; May, 1982. for both Dave Fannon from Jackson District and A. Y. Stokes from Piedmont and May, 1983, for David Thornhill from Stonewall-Hawthorne. E. P. Luke represents the supervisors on the planning commission, serving at the pleasure of his board.
Also up for action at the supervisors’ December 15 special meeting is Jennings Hobson’s expired term as county representative on the planning district’s community services board.
