An influenza epidemic hit Rappahannock this week, sending absenteeism soaring at the county's public schools and forcing cancellations of classes until January 5.
Superintendent William Bloomer announced on Tuesday, December 16, that schools would close fhat afternoon and remain closed until the regularly scheduled end of Christmas hotidays on January S. ^ The high school choral, concert on December 18 and the elmentary school spaghetti dinner and musical program on December 22 will be rescheduled, according to Dr. Bloomer.
