Places In Contest*Walter
Scott Reid III, a Wakefield sophomore, won the second place award in the oratorical contest sponsored by the American Legion for area youths.
The contest, held Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Warren County High School, required students to deliver an 8-11 minute speech on some aspect of the U.S. Constitution.
Later the contestants had to speak extemporaneously for five minutes on a subject drawn from a hat concerning the Constitution.
The winner of the contest was Warren County High School senior Wayne Williams.

Dean’s List
Roger L. Smoot of Washington was recently named to the fall quarter dean’s list at - Radford University.
Smoot, a junior sociology major, is the son of Louise Adkins of Washington. A grade point average of at least 3.4 must be obtained before being named to the dean’s list.
