Fire-Rescue

Peter Lortie of Washington, D. C. and Ellen Connorton of Arlington were taken from an auto accident near Ben Venue on March 11 to Fauquier Hospital by the Flint Hill Rescue Squad. On March 13, Russell Riddel was taken from the Shade farm near Woodville to the same hospital.

On March 9, the Flint Hill fire department responded to a controlled brush fire on Rt. 628 and 630 and March 12, Flint Hill with Castleton, Washington and Sperryville answered a call at the Reid residence on Rt. 626, Rock Mills. Flint Hill with Washington responded to a grass fire on March 13. behind Bradford’s Store and the post office and the same day answered a call on Rt. 662 at Dawson’s for a brush fire.

Flint Hill, Sperryville. Castleton and Washington fire companies answered a call on March 15 at Henry Eastwoods on Rt. 627. On the same day Flint Hill assisted by Washington and Chester Gap responded to a call on Rt. 626 off 635 in Fauquier County for a woodland fire. Amissville and Flint Hill responded to a grass fire on Rt. 729 at Richard Latham’s the same day.

The Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad transported Mrs. Anna Fincham from the home of Mrs. Marjorie Ruskin in Sperryville on March 11 to Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
