To the editor:
I am writing this letter to thank the citizens of Rap* pahannock County for their support of the Heart Fund Campaign during the month of February. Without the support of our residents, businesses. civic organizations, and especially Heart Fund volunteers, the campaign could not have been successful.
The monetary goal assigned Rappahannock for 1981 was $2,000, with a challenge goal of S2.200. I am pleased to report that at the end of our door-to-door campaign, over $2,700 was collected. Still more money has been contributed in the areas of mail-ins and memorials, bringing our current total close to S3.000.
The results of this campaign reflect hard work and input donated by over 50 Heart Fund volunteers, serving as chairpersons, district captains, and doorto-door workers. Their time volunteered to the campaign was invaluable and all performed superbly. I would like to extend a special thank you to my Board members, Virginia Cloud, Vice Chairperson and Treasurer; Barbara Gentry. Publicity; and Mary Quaintance, Time to Remember (Memorials). Your assistance and guidance made all the difference in this campaign. I sincerely appreciate the concern of the Rappahannock County citizens who took time in helping the Heart Association fight heart disease—America’s Number One Killer!
