According to Eastham, Beverly Massie and Nelson Lane. the committee’s members, voted to reverse their decision after new evidence was presented.
Mrs. Massie added that the procedures had been cleared with the school board’s attorney who advised that it was not necessary for Mr. and Mrs. James Leake to appeal on their son’s behalf because the committee could reverse itself in light of new evidence.
"We made our opinion based on the evidence." empahsized Lane. "It seems like the public has a lot of information that we don’t have," he added, inviting anyone with evidence to bring it before the committee for consideration.
