course and funny, but the prize package was freely and very competently given by the group from Front Royal which, with the dynamic direction of Margo Figgins of Flint Hill, put on the “Refugee'’, an original oneact play written by the troupe to enter in state-wide competition. They have won first place twice before and this effort should give them an excellent chance to repeat.
What those who missed it would have seen was a tense, coherent depiction of the pressures on a young adult, presented with well trained precision, imagination, and professional quality lighting.
Afterwards, the same young actors were given a chance to show how well their skills had been honed in a “workshop" conducted by Miss Figgins. whose enthusiasm for her craft was obviously a most important catalyst for her trainees.
Those who were there to enjoy this stimulating evening were able to leave with the happy feeling that they had been entirely right in coming to see the rebirth in this friendly theatre of an act which the ancient Creeks were advanced enough to develop into a universally enjoyed and recognized outlet for the creative spirit. Rappahannock could receive a gift of pure pleasure in that reborn theatre on Gay Street. Washington. Virginia.
