This piece of land is owned by Judge Rayner Snead and adjoins the property of Col. Robert Ingle. Council agreed to pay the purchase price for the property where the well was dug in January during the town's water shortage. The payment came to about $.1,000. including recording and survey.
The Mayor reported to Council that they would have the opportunity to either adjust the boundaries of the town or officially keep the existing boundaries. Miller said that the difference between what the towns people accept as their boundaries and the area authorized by the Virginia General Assembly could be as much as two times the area. The council agreed to potpone any consideration of new town limits until they had time to hear what other residents preferred and to study the problems involved.
