There is interest in processing at 15 pounds, and in fact, one commercial company has come out with timetables for processing at 15 pounds pressure. The interest is based on a conern for energy conservation.
The temperature at 15 pounds pressure is higher than at 10 pounds, so the assumption is that the processing time can be shortened, with a resulting saving of energy.
Research to date has not shown this to be the case. More time is required to get the canner to 15 pounds • pressure which offsets the saving of energy by the shorter processing time.

If two or more foods are combined and canned, then the mixture must be processed according to the directions for the most difficult food in the mixture.
Tomatoes combined with okra or corn would have to be processed under pressure for the time recommended for okra or for corn. Fat meat used to season beans would mean that the mixture would have to be processed as meat.
