For the past year, Roland has pedaled his bike from the family's home near Amissville to Lucky D Saddlery and Ye Olde General Store where he works as a combination stockboy and gardener three or four days a week.
This summer, instead of hanging around in front of the television or at the pool in his spare time, he can be found sweating in his vegetable garden. Roland is one of the county’s youngest truck farmers and plans to market what won’t fit in the freezer at a roadside stand at Clevenger’s corner later this* month.
“I like to watch things grow,” said the freckled 14year-old, his face dominated by its characteristic grin. He started with a Scout project.
