The first of what will become a series of experimental mini-piers opened for public use at Lake Orange near Orange, Virginia on Wednesday. September 2. The pier, which is designed to be accessible to the handicapped, will enable an evaluation of what piers have to offer fishermen at Commission owned lakes.
The mini-pier has a concrete deck 24 feet long by 12 feet wide, all of which is surrounded by a galvanized steel guard railing. A walkway. 24 feet by 4 feet, leads from the shoreline to the pier itself.
