To the editor:
The efforts of the residents of the Aaron Mountain community to preserve the peace and quiet we have spent our hard-earned money to get and enjoy have been well-documented and so far thousands of dollars have been spent in litigation to get what we thought were our rights.
This has resulted with our being left with an ugly monstrosity in our midst which so far has contributed to the impossibility to sell property. There are several who for various reasons need to sell but so far the realtors have been unable to find buyers. The realtors are well aware of the situation.
Now we are confronted with the matter of a private school in the church owned by the same group. The pastor claims he isn’t required to obtain a permit when it has been required of others in similar cases. This is a zoning matter and has nothing to do with religion, the propagation nor free exercise thereof.
The Zoning Office says a permit is needed. The BZA claims that the ordinance is to be enforced by the Commonwalth Attorney, as stated in the Rappahannock News last week. The Commonwealth Attorney has said that the Zoning Administrator is responsible for these matters. This is
