Rappahannock’s commonwealth's attorney Douglas Baumgardner testified at the State Corporation Commission’s public hearing in Richmond on December 9, representing the county board of supervisors in opposition to a rate increase request from Central Telephone Company of Virginia.
"The focal point of my concern and that of the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors relates to the quality of service currently being provided to the citizens of Rappahannock County by Centel." Baumgardner told the SCC.
He asked that any rate increase granted be conditional on the provision of better service. On behalf of the supervisors. Baumgardner maintained that service to the northern and central portions
