“My generation has seen greater change than any other in history,” announced W. B. Dennis. “I had a shock last month. The telephone rang and it was my son. He sounded just as clear as if he was calling from Boston but he said he was in Switzerland! It knocked me off my pins! I sat here and cried for an hour. That was what convinced me.

“And if I needed any more convincing, there was that space capsule. It weighed 106 tons when it landed. That’s hard to believe—106 tons. I had another crying spell," Dennis admitted, chuckling. "I’ve seen a whole lot of change.”

He's not going to find anybody to argue that fact. W. B. Dennis is 93 years old. From the Blue Ridge Mountains to the factories of Hagerstown to the fields of France and back home again to the mountains, he’s lived a long, full life.
