The Low Income Energy Assistance Block Grant is expected to provide $27.4 million to Virginia this year to fund the fuel assistance program. Other than the $20.9 million set aside for direct assistance to needy families, funds have also been budgeted for: emergency weather related crises, repairs to dangerous heating equipment, and supplements to the home weatherization program.
