The State Code of Virginia, Title 18.2, Section 286, prohibits the shooting of firearms within 100 yds. or 300 ft. of a state highway. The lot containing 1.3 acres on which the gun shop is located, has 226 feet along U.S. 211 and is only 257.43 feet deep. There is shooting of firearms, almost daily, within the boundaries of the above lot with no consideration for the safety or the noise factor on the neighborhood. State and county law enforcement officials have been informed repeatedly and especially one day this fall when 33 shots from all kinds of weapons were fired.
