“We were spending too much time posting checks,” Mrs. Payne said, noting that it took one teller just about, all day to keep up with the transactions. The way it was done (and will continue to be until the new system is fully implemented) keeps two employees busy for at least a half day, everyday. “One person posted the statements, another posted the ledger, then they compared the two to make sure the figures matched. The sheets had to be pulled for each customer and then put back into the files. Ilf Was a lot of work,” the cashier said.
