Approval quickly came for Leonard’s sign which she said measures approximately 30 by 40 inches, well within the 20 square feet normally allowed.
Leonard appreciated hearing her sign could go back up, but wondered when others might know if special use permits are required for their signs. In general, Konick explained, commercial signs in an agricultural zone need a permit unless they simply state the name of a farm or indicate locations of fruit stands. These signs must be within the 20 foot limit. If nonconforming signs, erected prior to the adoption of the 1983 zoning ordinance; are replaced, a permit is required, he said.
