Donkey-Ball Hits AmissviUe
Believe it or not, they’ll be riding donkeys and playing baseball at the same time in AmissviUe Friday, August 17, beginning at 7 p.m. at Stuart’s Field.
The event is sponsored by the AmissviUe Ruritan Club, but AmissviUe firefighters and Uttle leaguers wiU take to the diamond for the contest.
Admission is $2.50, which includes refreshments. Children under six watch for free.

Training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) wUl be available in Flint HiU August 20,23 and 27. The classes are certified by the American Heart Association and sponsored by Emergency Medical Services.

t Sports-Tryouts Begin Friday
Tryouts for the RCHS Cross Country team (boys and girls) will begin August 13 at Rappahannock High at 6 p.m., Coach Ann Spieker announces.
“Come dressed and ready to run,” the coach says. One caution: Participants must have a current physical exam in order to practice.
In related news, aU girls interested in trying out for RCHS Varsity or Junior Vanity basketball teams should meet at the high school gym Friday, August 10.
Varsity prospectives are to meet with Coach Greg Waters at 8 a.m., J. V.’s should meet with Carol Nowakowski at 10 a.m.
Come prepared to practice, the coaches announce. Participants must have a current physical exam; forms for exams can be obtained from the RCHS office weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
