To the editor:
I write this letter as a concerned citizen of Rappahannock County. We are about to lose many of our Godgiven, Constitutional and inherited * rights as private citizens of the United States of America.
On August 15 at 7:30 p.m. at fhe Rappahannock County Courthouse, the Planning Commission will hold a hearing on the new proposed zoning ordinance, which will be submitted to the board of supervisors for adoption. It has become evident after an indepth study of this new ordinance and the procedure in which the zoning administrator plans to “ramrod” the passage of these new zoning laws, that the citizens of Rappahannock must come out in full force at this public meeting protesting the hasty adoption of this ordinance before the general public becomes knowledgeable of its contents.
I say this because this new ordinance infringes upon our religious freedom, our small business and contractor rights, home occupation liberties, down zoning of individual properties and many other rights we now enjoy.
I call upon every citizen to get themselves a copy of this document and read and study cautiously its content. Copies should be available at the clerk’s and zoning administrator’s offices.
