The ink is hardly dry on Rappahannock’s ’84-’85 budget and requests for more dollars already are coming in.
During the board of supervisors' meeting August 6, several requests for additional funding were made, among them:
• $24,144 for pitched-roof repair at the elementary school.
School Superintendent Robert Estabrook made the pitch for additional Ainding, explaining a bid by the E. M. Martin Co. came in at $134,144. It was the second time Martin bid the project, and the second time the company was the lower bidder. Another bid, by Texas Roofing, came in at $157,700, Estabrook said.
“We have $110,000 in our budget for this project,” Estabrook reminded supervisors.
The bid is about $25,000 higher than flat-roof Repair, but supervisors reconfirmed their commitment to the. sloped roof, and approved the Martin bid. Repair should be completed 60'
