The Planning Commission again debated what road standards to require of subdividers at its meeting Nov. 15.
Last month they agreed that the proposed zoning amendments will specify that Type-Three roads will be allowed only in family subdivisions. These roads must have a 50-foot wide deeded right of way, but no surface treatment is specified for them.
That left the commissioners considering the definitions and requirements for TypeTwo and Type-One roads. Type-One roads are those that meet all the requirements to be taken into the state road system. They must have a 20-foot wide hard-surface treatment over gravel; there are other requirements having to do with ditching along the sides. Type-Two roads are the same, except that no hard surface treatment is required.
