The support of parents, grandparents, cousins, friends, you name it, was simply overwhelming. A Saturday morning at the elementary soccer field or the high school field meant coffee and danish courtesy of Maggie Rogers and the RCES Student Council Association. A cup of coffee while cheering on the young players has become a Rappahannock tradition.

Even though I would like to comment on each and every player (there is so much I could say about all the children and their playing ability), space won’t allow.

But I want to thank the coaches: Rob Parrish, John Ferdetta, Jay Monroe, Rick Johnson, Joe McCullough, Bob Wellemeyer, Tom Von Fange, John Burns, Dee Van Horn, Sharon Pierce, Lucky McCoy, Scott Currie and Howard Coon. A special thanks to Chris Stringfellow for being the “field marshal” at every game and to the referees: Ryan Welch, Celeste Waggoner, Noah Waggoner, Roger Welch, Jeremy Tole, Mike Brown and Shannon Sauce. Chris Berta was a great help as assistant coach.

Needless to say, a program like this is not possible without the support of many people like Rich Dietz, Dave Smith, Dave Gangel, Ozzie Pace, Bemie Chesshir, John Toth and Martha Kid well. Thank you, Sandra Brown, for keeping it all straight and to Jeb for lining the fields and everything else you do.
