Shooting match at CVFD
The Castleton Volunteer Fire Department is holding shooting matches, 1 p.m., every Saturday, at the Castleton Fire House. Those wishing to participate are reminded they need to use 12-gauge shotguns only, no sleeves. For more information, call 937-6051.
Family portraits ready
The family portraits taken three weeks ago will returned, 9 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Dec. 2. “Please adhere to the times that were given to you when you took the photographs,” said an organizer.
Trading Post welcomes crafter
George White Wolf will be at the Trading Post located on U.S. 211 West of Washington, 9 a.m.-5 p.m'., Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 2 and 3. In addition to handmade items of buckskin, leather and fur , he will be bringing Sioux war bonnets, dance sticks and other ritual fetishes.
Animal League to meet
The Rappahannock Animal Welfare League will meet at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the Washington Fire Hall. All members and interested'persons are urged to attend.
Breakfast at Washington VFD
The Washington Volunteer Fire Department will hold an all-youcan-eat breakfast, 7 a.m.-ll a.m., Sunday, Dec. 9, at the fire hall. The buffet menu will include scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage and gravy, bacon, potatoes and fried apples, with juice, coffee and milk. Santa Claus will be there to greet the kids, and all diners will receive a coupon good for $2 off any Christmas tree at Moose Hill Farm in Slate Mills. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2.50 for children, available at the door or in advance from any fire department member.
