Plans have been made by the
Sperryville Fire Department for the construction of a porch on the new Sperryville fire house. The front porch will be erected in memory of the late Robert F. Estes, who served the fire company and community for many years, and will bear a plaque dedicated to him. Mr. Estes was president of Sperryville Fire Department for years and was instrumental in the construction of the fire house on a pay-as-you-go plan.
The office of the Rappahannock County Welfare Department has been moved from the courthouse to the building formerly occupied by Watts Barbershop on Main Street, Washington, Va. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
