To the editor:
We were dismayed by Lou Hatters’s complaints about recycling being “inconvenient.” (Rappahannock News, Nov. 23, p. 5) He makes points about the location of the recycling center, as well as its hours of operation, that are valid.
However, to take one hour a week to gather and drop off recyclables is a small price to pay as “rent” for one’s spot on this planet. Each of us has a duty to our county and country to help maintain its beauty and integrity. Recycling is one step in the right direction toward cleaning up our badly-damaged environment, and to gripe that it is not convenient is petty.
