High school play scheduled
"The Slabtown District Convention," a play sponsored by the Julia E. Boddie Scholarship Committee, will be presented at Rappahannock High, 8 p.m. Saturday, April 25. The public is invited and tickets are $5 for adults, $2 for children.
The play was written by Nannie H. Burroughs, born in 1883 in Orange County, Va. Miss Burroughs was instrumental in forming the National Trade and Professional School for Women in D.C., renamed the Nannie Burroughs School in 1964, three years after her death.
The deadline for this year's Julia E. Boddie Scholarship is May 15; RCHS boys and girls are eligible. Applications are available at RCHS.
