Whenever I have time I ei\joy reading the “Way Back When” weekly column in the Culpeper paper. In last week’s edition, there was a paragraph on the tornado that struck Woodville, Rappahannock County, on May 2, 1929. It destroyed the school, two churches, and several homes. One person was killed—our own Liza Settle’s brother Carroll Settle who is also Jesse Settle’s father.
Around the village, I hope you saw the photo of Richard and Donna Dodson in Sunday’s Culpeper paper. They were married on Saturday at Culpeper United Methodist Church.
I was surprised last Thursday to learn I had been named Amissville Citizen of the Year by the Amissville Ruritan Club.
Have a great week and call with your news or leave at Hackley’s Store.
