The Rappahannock Republican Committee elected officers and delegates to the 10th Congressional District and state conventions during proceedings at the county courthouse Monday night.
Ron Frazier of Amissville was elected to serve another term as chairman, former House of Delegates candidate Bob Darby of Woodville was named vice-chairman, Adm. John Marocchi of Sperryville is the new secretary and Hugh Chrisman of Sperry ville is treasurer.
Delegates from Rappahannock to the 10th Congressional District nominating convention May Id in Front Royal are Mr. Frazier, Adm. Marocchi, Bob Darby, Trish Darby and Harry Purdy of Castleton. Six-term incumbent U.S. Rep. Frank Wolf of Fairfax County is unopposed for renomination.
Those five delegates plus Richard Viguerie of Washington, Va. and Lindsay Savage of Castleton will represent the county at the state GOP convention at the Salem CivicCenter May 29-30.
Monday night the county Republicans also passed resolutions calling for a congressional repeal of the D.C. gun-liability law and for the federal government to exhibit more restraint, an action brought about by the check-kiting scandal, among other issues.
