Although Mr. Kater provided some original structure to the recordings, much of it evolved through improvisation with Mr. Nakai. Mr. Kater than added cello, saxophone, flute and vocal embellishments.
Several outstanding musicians, some familiar local names and Mr. Nakai’s chanting blend with piano and native flute to create a beautiful and moving musical journey.
Contributing to the new recording are many artists familiar to Rappahannock audiences: Bob Read, Martha Sandefer, Beth Levick, and Cheryl Hurwitz.
